Although Ministry of Minority Affairs had already intimated about introduction of PMJVK scheme launched with modifications to erstwhile MsDP scheme as a follow-up action, the Managing Director, NAWADCO wrote letters to the Secretaries/Principal Secretaries looking after Minority Welfare and Chairpersons of Waqf Boards of all the States in the 2nd fortnight of June 2018. The states are being pursued further.
NAWADCO availed the opportunity of addressing the participating Chairpersons, CEOs & other officials of the Waqf Boards and the Mutawallis of the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh during the month of June & July, 2018. During these interactive sessions, awareness was created among the Stakeholders to avail opportunity to take advantage of 100% support given by the Central Govt. for development of waqf properties falling under Minority Concentrated Areas in PMJVK scheme. They were also reminded of business model on which NAWADCO could undertake commercial development of financially viable waqf properties by way of engaging suitable Developers.
In addition to above, the Waqf Boards like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh have recently been reminded again in the month of July & August, 2018 requesting therein to give consent to NAWADCO to develop their waqf properties.
Sr. Adviser (Projects), Manager (F&A) and Engg. Asstt visited Mewat, Haryana for projects under PMJVK scheme on 08.08.2018 and visited Mewat Engineering College where a Girls Hostel & Smart Classes are proposed in 1st phase and Health Care Facility, Market Shed & Sadbhav Mandap (Community Centre) in 2nd phase. A Residential Girls School 10+2 is proposed to be constructed at Firozepur Jhirka, which is a MCA block. The School will be operated by Haryana Waqf Board itself.
The 1st phase proposals with DPR etc. have since been submitted to MoMA on 20.09.2018 to seek approval under PMJVK scheme. On receipt of sanction of this project, further work would be taken up by NAWADCO after calling tenders on Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) basis.
Haryana has proposed to take up commercial development on the back side of land plot at Panipat which was already under consideration at NAWADCO & was requiring change of land title. This is being discussed again with Haryana WB to sort out anomalies and work out better business possibilities.
Engineering Assistant visited Uttarakhand and visited a site of Haridwar to take up project under PMJVK scheme at Jwalapur. A concept drawing has since been got prepared based on which proposal with estimate is being prepared by NAWADCO.
Engineering Assistant visited Madhya Pradesh from 10.09.2018 to 13.09.2018 and visited a sites of Ujjain, Ratlam, Indore, Jaora, Khachrod and Bhopal to take up project under PMJVK scheme or for commercial development through NAWADCO. The preliminary details for Ujjain where mix type of development is sought by the Waqf Committee is under examination at M.P. Waqf Board and NAWADCO may take it up on receipt of E.O.I. The property at Ratlam is also being pursued by NAWADCO.
Karnataka – Three (3) projects at Bengaluru, of which building plans stand duly accepted by the Waqf Board, requires clearances from State Govt. During the visit to Bangalore on 20.06.2018, they were apprised of the opportunities of PMJVK scheme also. They were reminded to consider NAWADCO’s business model again vide letter dated 07.08.2018.
